Psychometric tests are developed and delivered by our industry partner, Hogan Assessments - an international authority in personality assessment and consulting.
What is the format of the test?
Each test can have one or multiple sections, and can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. Questions are presented in a random manner and the test taker is only subjected to an overall time limit for the test.
Why do I need to save an assessment template?
The template name is your way of uniquely identifying your job. This could be a job title, an internal job ID or any other value which would help you in keeping track of the candidates that were issued this template. The template name will show up on each candidate report as well for easy viewing.
I don't see the technical skill I want to assess my candidates on. What do I do?
We're working towards building question banks for each and every one of those technologies out there. However our initial focus is to provide question banks for commonly used technologies. If your technology requirement has not been covered, we can certainly create a one-off question bank for you. Please contact us at support@sharpertalent.com for more information.
How does scoring work?
With the exception of psychometric tests, we use an adaptive scoring methodology for all other tests to accurately determine a candidate's skill level. For e.g., just knowing that a candidate is 'weak' or 'strong' in Java is not enough - we would rather give you a precise score, a list of components that the candidate was tested on, and a stack rank to significantly reduce subjectivity when evaluating a candidate.
What types of questions does the test contain?
Most of our questions are objective, multiple choice questions. Occasionally the candidate may be asked to provide more subjective answers which are automatically graded by our parsing algorithm.
How many questions does each section contain?
That really depends on the test that has been configured. In general, it can range from 8 to 20 questions per skill.
Can a client provide their own questions as well?
Yes, but at this stage we only accept batches of questions. I.e. our clients can either use the banks we have, or provide us with an entirely custom bank of their own questions, in which case the pricing package will be different. Please contact us at support@sharpertalent.com for more details.

How are psychometric tests integrated?
Psychometric tests are conducted directly on the Hogan Assessments website. Candidates are provided with clear instructions on taking this section of the test. Our clients are sent a single integrated report for each candidate for easy viewing.
Do you provide specialised consultancy on personality assessment?

Does the assessment report have an expiration date?
While there is no strict expiration date, we believe that a candidate`s skill level can change frequently. Employers and recruiters are encouraged to have their candidates take a customised test that aligns specifically with their job requirements. Technology evolves every day, and candidates that keep up are generally sought after by most companies.
How can I issue tests to a candidate?
That's easy! Once you have saved a template, please click on the "My Dashboard" link in the top right corner to see your saved templates, and issue these out to one or multiple candidates. Each candidate will receive an email with unique Invitation Key(s) and will have 72 hours to take the assessment.
Is there a restriction on the number of candidates I can issue a single test to?
No restrictions. Fire away!
What if the candidate does not respond to an assessment request within 72 hours?
In that case the candidate's unique key will expire and they will not be able to take the test. Your test credit will be automatically refunded back to your account within 48 hours of expiration. If you see any discrepancies, please drop us a note at billing@sharpertalent.com and we will reach out to you within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
Do Hiring Managers and Recruiters get charged for expired Invitation Keys?
No - that would be unfair. In such a case your test credit will be automatically refunded back to your account within 48 hours of expiration. If you see any discrepancies, please drop us a note at billing@sharpertalent.com and we will reach out to you within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
Is it possible to view the status of each candidate?
Yes - please click on the "My Dashboard" link in the top right corner of your screen and you should be able to see the status of each candidate in the menu option there.
Can a candidate see their scores?
By default, only the person issuing the test is able to see the report. He or she may choose to forward that PDF report to others if needed.
Can a candidate retake a test?
At present the candidate is only allowed to take the test once. Candidates should be encouraged to prepare for their test in advance.
What are the available payment options?
You may choose to pay online using your PayPal account, or could choose the option of being invoiced offline, in which case you may not be able to issue a test till we have credited your account.
Do credits expire?
At this time we do not have an expiration policy for credits. In line with this, we do not have a refund policy either.
Can multiple users within a company use the same account?
At this time each user is required to sign up for a separate account. We will implement a multi-user model in the future.
How does unlimited subscription work?
Unlimited subscriptions run on a month to month basis. During a given month of unlimited subscription the hiring manager or recruiter can issue an unlimited number of tests to their candidates. Note that psychometric tests are not included as part of the monthly subscription and will be billed separately.
I don't have a corporate PayPal account. Can I be invoiced offline?
Absolutely - just drop us a note at billing@sharpertalent.com with details of what you are looking to purchase and we'll take this forward. Alternatively you can ask to be invoiced offline when you check out on our website.
I have an "Unlimited Subscription". How do I cancel?
We would hate to see you go. If there is anything that we can do from our end to retain you as our valuable client, please let us know. Write to us at feedback@sharpertalent.com
If you must cancel right away, and if you paid for this using your PayPal account, the option to cancel can be found in your PayPal account under My Accounts > My Profile > My Money > My preapproved payments.
If you were invoiced offline, please drop us a note at support@sharpertalent.com before your next billing cycle and we will proceed to cancel your subscription.
Are there any minimum system requirements?
Since our application is entirely cloud based and hosted on state-of-the-art infrastructure, your experience will depend largely on your internet connection speed and computer specifications. As such we recommend using a computer with at least 1GB of RAM and a relatively recent version of an internet browser.
What types / versions of browsers are supported?
We support latest versions of most common browsers - Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
Can tests be administered and taken on the go?
Yes! While we do not have a native mobile app at this point, our website is responsive by design and as such most activities can be carried out on a smart phone or a tablet. We recommend having a good enough internet connection and a big enough viewing screen (recommend size: 5 inches and above).
What happens if a candidate accidently shuts a test mid-way through, or loses internet connectivity?
The candidate will have 5 minutes to resume the test. If 5 minutes have elapsed and he or she has been unable to re-join the test, the key will be deactivated automatically and the candidate will need to reach out to the hiring manager or recruiter or support@sharpertalent.com for next steps.
How soon is a candidate report generated?
A candidate's core skills assessment report will be emailed to the issuer and listed in their personal dashboard as soon as the test has been completed. A comprehensive report containing personality assessment as well will be emailed to the assessment issuer within 12 hours after the test has been completed.
What format is the report in?
Reports can be viewed online in HTML format, and can be downloaded as a PDF. We strongly encourage you to view all reports in the latest version of Adobe Reader, available here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/.
Can I configure an email alert to let me know when a candidate completes a test?
This feature does not exist at this time but will be introduced in a future release.
